[Situation] Projecting into the Firth of Forth North of the Burgh of Leith
A substantially constructed Pier extending northerly from Shore Street to Dolphin Head, on the east side of the Water of Leith, from Shore Street to the Inner Lighthouse it is formed of stone, with a strong breakwater on its eastern side, from thence to its extremity at Dolphin Head it is a strong wooden platform protected beneath by a strong stone breakwater.

A Small breakwater extending from the Martello tower to the East Pier. it is formed of ruble stones loosely thrown together it was made for the prevention of the tidal water acting on the East Pier. it is covered after a short time of flood tide.
