This office is Kept by Mr Goldie in his own house and can be removed to another house, at the pleasure of the authorities, at it are two deliveries and two despatches, morning and Evening. There are a number of Sub offices attached, Viz [namely] Newtongrange, Ford, BlacKshiels, Millerhill, Upper Keith and Couseland, all of which have to send to this office for Post Office money orders, &c.
SLAUGHTER HOUSE [Dalkeith]	Slaughter House Slaughter House	Mr Jardine Mr Stewart	[Situation] In Between. A Small Slaughter house the property of the DuKe of Buccleuch who let it yearly to the fleshers in DalKeith.
