There are three Public houses in the village One Cloth or Draper's Shop & four or five Small Grocer's Shops, there are two Churches one the Ph [Parish] Church the other A United Presbyterian Church, Also two schools in connection with the above Churches, and a Post Office. the inhabitants with the exception of a few tradesmen mostly are Agricultural Labourers There is one Fair held here in each year Chiefly for hiring purposes and the Sale of Seed Corn & Sheep
