The Town Council of Edinburgh getting possession in 1560 - 1 of Trinity Church and its pertinents because in consequence proprietors of the ecclestiascal appurturances of Soutra and the Patrons of its Church. By the seizure of its charity revenues the ruin of its hospital & the reduction of and afterwards abandonment of its Church the village of Soutra was stopped of its importance and brought to desolation.
