A tolerably large hill on the north of the road from Edinbu [Edinburgh] to Lanark the surface is Heathy Pasture and on its summit stan [stands] a Trig [Trigonometrical] station. Tradition says that at the Base of this hill meetings of the covenanters were frequently held during the persecution there are however no remains or appearances of artificial works to support the tradition. |
