A tradition in the locality assents that King Robert Bruce stood on this hill during the course of a match between some favourite hounds of his and that of William, St. Clair of Roslin. A handsome cottage of the modern style situated on the side of an eminence on the northern margin of Logan Burn and surrounded by pleasant ground. It is used as a hunting lodge by the proprietor Mr. Robertson.
