011 A lofty hill or mountain upon the "Pentland Range" joined to "Scald Law" by a ridge. The surface is heathy and in many places where the vegetable soil is removed broken whinstone of a darkish hue appears. It is upon the farm of Eastside and on its summit stands a Trigl. [Trigonometrical station] called after the hill. South is applied to contra distinguish it from an adjacent "Black Hill" on the Logan House ground.
