This rapid river, taking a noth easterly direction through the Parish of Currie, and passing under Balerno Bridge about 11 chains north of Balerno, receives Bavelaw Burn, which runs in a northerly direction east of Balerno, about 7 chains east of Balerno Bridge. This river supplies many mills and works in its course.
