011 This was once the parish Church of Kirknewton. but since this parish was united to East Calder. and the New Church built the old one has been a ruin, and is now used as a Burying Vault. Some of the inhabitants now living in Kirknewton, recollect when divine service was held in the Old Church. each individual Carried his seat with him to Church: as there were no seats in it, save one which was for the Minister wife.
