Erected at the expense of the proprietor of the village Sir John [Jno] Hope of Pinkie there is an appointed teacher to it. A small salary including a dwelling house & garden the usual branches taught in it are English with Arithmatic Latin & French, the average number of scholars in attendance is about sixty
