A neat stone edifice of a plain Style of architure. It was formerly a Baptist chapel but was purchased about 3 years ago by the United Presbyterians attached is a session house and vestry. The church is capable of accommodating about 750 with seats. Its is attended by about 650 of a congregation The minister is the Revd [Reverend] Mr Robertson there is also a school connected with the church.

A street extending in an easterly direction from the East side of Causewayside to Minto Street the houses are of good construction with gardens and ornamental ground attached the residences of respectable families
