[Situation] Around the Queen's Park
This name applies to a Carriage road which goes through the Queen's Park. It is well Macadamized and Kept clean. It was Constructed by the Commissioners of Woods and Forests. It serves as an avenue leading to Holyrood Palace, as also a Promenade which free to the Public.There are three entrances or gateways leading to the ParK from which this road extends Viz. One near to JocK's Lodge, one near Newington and the other at Holyrood Palace. At each entrance there is a GateKeeper with a Sentry Box or Small booth for his Convenience, whose business is to prevent improper Conduct or damaging of the ParK
