A large school house, 2 stories high established here in 1812 by the Education Society. It is conducted on the Lancasterian system as its name imports. The school is supported by subscription raised by the society the affairs are managed by a board of directors. The school fees from each scholar is 2D. [2 pennies or tuppence] per week. The upper storey is the girls school & the lower storey is the boys school. Mr. R. Dun is teacher to the latter and Miss Dun that of the former.
