[Situation] N. W. [North West] of [?] of of Calton Old Burying Ground
A plain open Circular building in the Southern Portion of the Calton Old Burying Ground. It is About 15 feet high with a Cornice at top. and encloses the remains of David Hume the celebrated historian. The entrance to the interior is on its eastern side above which is an inscription, as follows. David Hume Born April 6th. 1711 Died August 25th 1776 Erected in Memory of Him in 1778.
