[Situation] On North & South Sides of Waterloo Place
This name applies to 2 Areas of land, one on each side of "Waterloo Place", and used as places of internment. that on the South Side has Some fine Monuments but those of Any note Are that reared to the memory of Hume the historian also a tall obelisk erected to the memory of the political martyrs. This burying ground was one area but in 1817 was cut through by the opening up of Waterloo Place, And in lieu of the ground thus Appropriated A Spcae of ground was Given farther Size And Called "Calton New Burying Ground"
