Its proper source is supposed to be at a well 93 ft [feet] deep in the Kitchen of Calder house but this is merely a conjecture This spring is perennial and the general temperature is from 44 [degrees] to 50 [degrees] Not the least information Can be got as to how it receives this name but notwithstanding it is noted in the surrounding district for its salubrity and the term it is generally Known by is "Mungie's Well" which is merely a contraction of the above.
