PINKIE BRAE Pinkie Brae Mr. Andrew Elly
Mr. William Hay
A small hill or brae extending from near Leven Hall , south westward through Pinkie Mains to the Howe-Mire. It is supposed that on the top of this brae were buried those who were killed at the battle of Pinkie. Human remains have been dug up from time to time alon the top of the brae. When examining the ground I saw upwards of twenty coffins being laid bare by the men working in the Quarry at the N. East end of the brae - some of which contained skulls and bones etc.
