002 A large farm house and office houses all in good repair Attached to it is a farm of about 30 Acres of ground the property of Capt. [Captain] Balfour of Balburnie. It was formerly a mansion house. The present tenant say that it is supposed to have been formerly the residence of Mary, Queen of Scots during Some Short periods, a stone in the front wall bears date 1562 with the words "Incline your ear to our prayer" with other words in Latin, now partially defaced, and white washed over - with other armorial insignia on the same and also over an inside door in the passage
