Craigcrook Castle (1626) | Craigcrook Castle | Mr Belfrage Craigcrook Mr Fortune House of Hill Co [County] Map |
A handsome country mansion in a castellated style of architecture with a handsome garden and neatly laid out, but small demesne attached. The building and some adjacent lands were bequeathed by a proprietor for charitable purposes and is now managed by the Edinburgh Presbytery & some one or two attorneys - an old wall a little east of the house as an archway surmounted by a coat of arms with "1626" engraved upon it probably to indicate the period of foundation. |
