"Craigcrook mortification is an estate of
"above £300 per annum which was mortified
" for charitable and pious uses but not con-
" fined to this parish by John Strachan of Craig-
"crook about 1720. The managers are two advo-
"cates two writers to the Signet of the whole Presbytery
"of Edinburgh, under the Control of the Lords of
"the Session, and these managers are in terms of the
"deed of mortification directed to employ a
"[disant] person to uplift the rent when due and as
"uplifted to employ Same as the aforesaid persons
