002 | The ruins of a castle situated on a rocky eminence a little south east of Granton Pier, it has the appearance of having been a stronghold, on the west and south sides there still remains a castellated wall about twenty feet high it appears from the style of Architecture to have been erected in the sixteenth Century [-] 1619 it was the residence and property of Sir Thomas Hope.
