043.01; 043.02 | A small village with a rural population of about 250 irregularly built along the Roberton Burn. The houses are mostly 1 storey, thatched and in tolerable repair. It contains a U.P. Church & Manse, a public house, a Parish School which latter has been retained. But the Parish Church which has become disused on the union of Wiston and Roberton in the year 1772 is now entirely removed. Property of the Earl of Home |
