030.04 | A little village on the southern boundary of the parish chiefly occupied by agricultural labours. There are two smithies in it, and one school - a subscription. There is a good stone bridge, with one arch, over the kype water. There is not a public house in Sandford. The ford, which was the origin of the name, has long since been disused. Mr Lockart of Castlehill has the superiority of the village, the whole of which has been feued to several of the present occupiers. |
