New Statistical Account.
At the place marked "supposed site of Saint Lawrence Chapel" the tenant of the farm found, about 30 years ago, the remains of a building, or a great quantity of stones, which appeared to have been worked, or cut with a chisel, they were a few feet below the ground surface. The stones were loose, and Mr Leiper could not say that they were foundation stones, owing to them not being joined together with mortar.
