007.09 An old coal pit left by the Co[mpany] working the Pits on Greenfield, as a basin, or lodgment, for the water coming from the other workings on the same property, To prevent it from overflowing into Westmuir Colliery, the latter Company have to keep an engine constantly working to pump it up, After which, it is conducted to Camlachie Burn by an underground course. The Pits is walled round, There is a dwelling house attached occupied by the Engine man.

007.09 A burn which rises at Well House from springs which have been drained, and flowing past Shettleston, passes inside the Parliamentary boubdary to Camlachie, & is used as a mill lade at several mills & manufactories between Camlachie & where it enters the Clyde at Glasgow Green. "Light Burn" enters it near Carntyne House.
