007.05 A large loch bounded by Millerston on the north & Hogganfield on the west. In wet seasons it is flooded to the extent shewn on the Examination Traces. It is seldom totally dry. On the east side is a stone dike across it to prevent cattle from entering the adjoining arable field when grazing in dry seasons. Two fences end inside the high water line. The Molendinar Burn enters this loch on the north east & may be traced inside the high water line for about 4 chains. It passes out again on the west side by a sluice gate nearly opposite Hogganfield Bleachfield. The City of Glasgow has a right to the waters of this loch for their mills & the Baillie of Provan is in Charge of it, together with Frankfield Loch & the Molendinar Burn. G. Miller Esq is proprietor of the surface or land east & south of the production of of the Molendinar Burn until it meets the production of the fence on the south side ending 3 chains inside the high water mark.
