Header: Parish of Old Monkland No.21Transcriber's notes
Maryston:The spelling and pronunciation of this place has been open for debate. In many press reports it has been referred to as West Maryston and equally as West Merryston. Locally it has always been called West ----------- rather than just Maryston or Merryston. It should be noted that there was a Merryston a few miles to the east along the canal at Coatbrdige.
