CAVE [North Calder Water] Cave Dr.[Doctor] Clark Wester Moffat 008.10 A small cave at the base of an old quarry on the north bank of the N.[North] Calder Water, by appearance it seems to be natural, and not artificial. Dr. [Doctor] Clark of Wester Moffat says that it's natural, and was used as a hiding place by the Covenanters during the Reformation.
About 15 years ago there were some cosls wrought out of it.
Dr. [Doctor] Clark is the only Gentleman that knows anything about it in the neighbourhood
