006.10 Formerly the name of the Town, & is, even now, by the older inhabitants, commonly applied to everything in the vicinity. It does not, however, according to the best authorities, apply to anything but the Dock. It is used in connexion with the Saw Mill & Canal for building Boats. There is a lock Gate which supplies it from the Basin with water, when necessary. The Saw Mill is wrought by J.& D Swan Timber Merchants. It employs 80 men. It is a Graving Dock
