026; 027; 033; 034 "The parish of Quothquan was annexed to that of Libberton in the year 1669. The united parish extends from north to South about 7 miles, and from east to west about 4½ miles. It contains nearly fourteen square miles, or 8703 imperial acres."

"There is no toll-road in the parish, except the one between Glasgow and Peebles, which passes through the north-east corner of it for nearly a mile,"
Statistical Account.
The parish church was built in 1812 and is amply sufficient for the accomodation of the whole population. There are two schools in the parish the parochial school at the church town of Libberton, and the school of Quothqan: there is also a Sunday School at Quothquan. The parish is bounded on the north by Carnwath on the east by Walston and Biggar on the south by Symington and on the west by Covington and Pettinain - There are no detached portions of other parishes within the boundaries of this and this parish has no detached portions with the boundaries of other parishes
