024.07 | A small tract of moss which, together with the name, extends beyond the Parish By. [Boundary] to Dalserf Ph [Parish] and is very well known in both. Three considerable Proprietors come upon this moss - The Duke of Hamilton, Captain McNeil Hamilton of Raploch, & the heirs of the Douglas family. It seems to be spelt by the Agent of the latter Ps [Proprietors ?] as "Threepwood", and by the Duke of Hamilton's Agents by the more popular mode "Thripwood". The Douglasses are the largest Proprs [Proprietors] on the moss (See authorities for Farm name in Lesmahagow Ph [Parish]) |
