031.08 The Ph [Parish] church, large & plain, built about 30 years ago upon the site of an abbey founded by King David 1st in 1140. 1500 sittings. There are two officiating Ministers attached. The first has a glebe, value £40, with a stipend of sixteen chalders - half oatmeal, half barley. The second minister has a manse and garden, but no glebe he has the stipend as the first.
