017.04 A Burn which carries from Blantyre Muir & isused for supplying, by Sluices, the "Hamilton Water Works". (xvii-6 Trace 6). In the first part of its course it is called Earnock Burn, after which it bears the name of "Wellshaw Burn", from the Lands of Millhall (about "Allanshaw", xvii-3 Trace 6) until it enters Park Burn on Trace 1 xi-15. The distinctive names of this Burn & may easily be recognised by persons of either neighborhood.
