011.16 The whole of the Low Parks of Hamilton Palace Kept (with the exception of the Plantations) in Pasture or ornamental grounds.
They extend from the Carlisle T.P. Road, in the South, to the Clyde in the North. The western bounds, are the Bothwell T.P. Road, The Town of Hamilton, part of the Motherwell T.P. Road, & the west side of the "Great Avenue" - from the Motherwell T.P. Road to the Carlisle T.P. Road south of it (trace 3.6 xvii [--]. The eastern boundary, after crossing the Clyde, is "Logans Plantation", (Trace 1.4.xii-13) & the Avon Water to the Carlisle Road, which forms the southern extent. The "South Haugh" is outside the wall which forms the side of the Motherwell Road & encloses the Policies immediately surrounding the Palace, but it is part of the Low Parks & Kept as ornamental or Pasture Grounds.
