A large and splendid edifice said to be the most entire specimen of our ancient Architecture that is to be found in Scotland. It was founded in the year 1123 by John Achais, Bishop of Glasgow, and was dedicated to St Mungo or Kentigern during the reign of David I. Its form is that of a Latin Cross and is surmounted by a lofty spire. The Choir is fitted up with pews and is occupied as one of the City Parish Churches called the "Inner High Church". The Nave was for some time occupied as the Outer High. Adjoining the Choir is the Lady Chapel and at the north end of which is the "Chapterhouse" founded by Bishop Lauder in 1408, this is used as a Vestry or Session house for the Congregation of the Inner High Church. The Crypts are 3 in number, the first "Blackadders Aisle" founded in 1490 is situated under the southern transept. |

VI-II No8 City of Glasgow
The parochial church is the nave (Choir) of the Cathedral which was opened as a protestant church in 1560 and for a long time was called simply the high church; but afterwards denominated the Inner High Church to distinguish it from the Outer High Church, opened in 1648" (Illegible) "Subsequent to the Reformation, the Choir or eastern division was used as a place of Protestant worship; but to meet the increase of ( ) Culture, the Western division was also fitted up as a church under the name of the Outer High Church, to distinguish it from the eastern division, or Inner High Church; and this portion of the Cathedral was used up till a comparatively recent period when the congregation was accommodated by the erection of St Paul's in another quarter of the City" Gazett

transept; the second Lauder's Crypt is under the chapterhouse; and the 3rd Joceline's Crypt is the largest, it extends under the Choir and Lady Chapel, and is the most remarkable for Architecture, it was consecrated as a place of internment for the Magnates of the Church, in it is the Shrine of St Mungo and St Mungo's Well.
"In the year 560, a Bishopric was founded here by St Mungo, or Kentigern, who died 13th January 601 and was buried at the east end of the ground where the church now stands, and where his tomb is still to be seen. Prior to the year 1100, the Bishop's Church seems to have been but a mean building, constructed chiefly of timber, and had gone into decay. In 1115, David, Prince of Cumberland, refounded the See; and having, in 1124 succeeded his brother, Alexander I, to the crown of Scotland, he promoted his preceptor and chaplane, John Achaius, to the Bishopric, in 1129, who rebuilt a part of the Cathedral with stone. The Church was solemnly consecrated on the 9th February 1133 in the presence of the King, who endowed it with the lands of Perdyc, now called Partick. In the year 1180, Joceline, Bishop of Glasgow, made an addition to the Cathedral, which had so far been carried on by Achaius." Clellands Annals of Glasgow
After all the dilapidations and changes which it has sustained, the Cathedral of Glasgow still forms a magnificent pile of gothic architecture; and is justly regarded as the grand ornament of the City. It stands ( ) an elevation on the north side of the city and at the northern extremity of the high street. The circumference of the whole building is 1090 feet, measuring around the Ai(s)les and abutments; it is supported by 147 pillars, many whereof are very large; and it is lighted by 157 windows. In the description, a word seems missing after " A short"....presumably "street"
Where you can take an educated guess like this I would put the word in brackets.
Also you need to enter the header of the page in Continued Entries and reorder the places so they are the same as the original. You do this by clicking and dragging the cross next to the place name, don't forget to save it when you're done.
Where you have more than on authority for the spelling and you have 'do' under the place name, it needs to be entered again.
You can delete all this once you've read it. |

Free: Changes at Xplor: New President & CEO Positioning Xplor as 鈥淕atekeeper of Education for Digital Documents鈥?custom office supplies booklet printing a sender By WhatTheyThink Staff Published: January 16, 2007 Make Your Customers the Stars of Your Marketing ,"Is Distance ""Dead"" in the Printing Industry?"
Other areas to consider, says Schaefer, are definitely the seller’s management expertise; the likely compatibility on the seller’s business culture as well as the buyer’s; along with the “stickiness” (loyalty) from the seller’s customers. WTT: Mark, provide us with more detail of everything you do on day-to-day basis? Mark Levin: I am in charge of Heidelberg web press and high-volume postpress sales and service in North America (the United States and Canada). I spend almost all of my time centering on our customers. Web press and postpress systems are large, complex and highly customized. That demands extensive interaction between your supplier as well as the customer on many levels. My role would be to manage that interaction, making certain that individuals're listening to the customers, addressing their demands and doing everything we can easily possibly do from the technology plus a service standpoint to make them easier. WTT: Shows for example Graph Expo give companies like Heidelberg an opportunity to attract large items of printing equipment, for example web presses. Will website visitors to Graph Expo be capable to see any of your respective presses functioning? Mark Levin: As you might imagine, due tot the short create time, running a complete web press at the show like Graph Expo will be difficult, otherwise impossible. Instead, we will have printing units and other components around the show floor to indicate new and important capabilities. We will also hold live demos at some of our existing customer sites within the Chicago area during the show. WTT: I guess they'd make a great deal of noise and cause some significant vibration within the halls at Chicago, nevertheless it’s always fun to see web presses running. Are there any must-see pieces of it technology out of your division inside the booth? Mark Levin: We will have several pieces of apparatus on display that we feel people should see if these are considering web presses. On the top of the must-see list would need to be the Sunday 2000 press with Autoplate. This new automatic plate changing system allows one operator to alter each of the plates, or any blend of plates, in less than two minutes. The Sunday 2000 is already an established high-performance press for high-quality commercial and short-run publication printing. Autoplate will help printers cut makeready times even more. Speaking of Autoplate, we will also show the M-600 A24 press with Autoplate for the very first time in North America. Finally we're going to emphasize our Omnicon control system and show the Contiweb FD flying paster. WTT: We’ve heard off their Heidelberg executives concerning the digital backbone that may be connecting equipment within your booth. How do the web presses easily fit into? Mark Levin: Very well, we believe! There will likely be plenty of attention on our Prinect Prepress Interface. We now use a single, easy-to-use system that may take digital data from your CTP device and rehearse it to preset web presses, sheetfed presses as well as other components. We look ahead to demonstrating the makeready and waste reduction advantages in the show. WTT: How can visitors to the booth learn much more about Prinect and also the connections you mentioned? Mark Levin: Printers have got clear that they need information about digital workflows, understanding that is the thing that they're going to get during the entire Heidelberg booth. Prinect is going to be a central theme at our main theater presentation at individual Expert Spot presentations through the entire booth. Of course, the most effective methods of customers to get information related to their specific needs is to meet along with us one-on-one in the show. Thank you Mark. By Cary Sherburne Published: August 5, 2002 ,packaging printing office supply companies Your sales force creates customer need for your services, your production team fulfills that demand by manufacturing quality printed products on-time. Both your sales reps and also your production team must be SOLD for the strategic, long-term significance of creating digital connections for your existing customers and making use of digital connections to win new clients. Taggants are microscopic chemical markers that may be added towards the substrate or toner itself, to permit various types of verification. They already are useful for banknotes, identification documents and value papers in addition to packaging for cigarettes, alcohol or pharmaceuticals. Taggants are invisible towards the human eye on the internet which enables it to basically be detected by special readers. They aren't removable and these are very hard to reverse engineer. Taggants take hold within the toner in the production process. Once the taggant toner is ready, it's only distributed by having a specialized supplier that has expertise in managing security solutions and includes a strict chain of custody. If taggant toner has been familiar with print variable information it helps make the packaging virtually impossible to scan. With the X-800, Xeikon has embraced an empty, scalable and modular architecture. DFE's become obsolete and therefore are inflexible as a DFE is usually a hardware box delivered by the vendor with all of software placed on it. The X-800, for the other hand, has separately installable workflow modules for previewing, pre-flighting, PDF proofing and archiving, job editing, RIPing, accounting, global object management, etc. All these modules might be attached with any Windows-based PC platform. This architecture gives customers the widest choice in the way they configure and deploy their digital printing workflow. The result can be that this DFE doesn't dictate the digital printing workflow but adapts to your workflow customers would like to build. In addition, customers' DFE investment is way better preserved because they may now choose the RIP hardware, the size and style and style of disk storage (SCSI, SAN, NAS, etc.), archive and back-up strategy, network configuration, etc. This openness guarantees customers can certainly change their workflow and won't have to purchase a whole DFE if they just would like to upgrade to newer and faster hardware. ,

In 1556, during the minority of Mary Queen of Scots, James Hamilton, Earl of Arran, an ancestor of the noble home of Hamilton and nearest heir to the throne after Mary, was appointed Regent, this appointment having been opposed by the Earl of Lennox and the Queen Dowager, an engagement took place at the Butts (now the site of the Infantry Barracks). The citizens taking part with Lennox, the Regent was defeated, which so exasperated him, that, rallying his troops, he entered the town and gave it up to pillage; which was so effectively done that the very doors and windows of the houses were destroyed - New Stat.
