027.08 A very small, straggling village situated about the centre of the Ph. [Parish] of Dolphinton, it consists of a few one storey houses occupied generally by agricultural laborers, it has a Church, Manse & School, but neither Inn or Post Office, and but one small shop for the sale of groceries the houses are partly thatched, partly slated, in good repair & are the property of John Ord McKenzie Esqr.
