027.11 A middling sized hill which is situated in five parishes, namely, Kirkurd, Skirling, Biggar, Walston, and Dolphinton, the portion in the last named parish is small, mostly wooded and is the property of John Ord McKenzie Esq.

027.08 A very small, straggling village situated about the centre of the Ph. [Parish] of Dolphinton, it consists of a few one storey houses occupied generally by agricultural laborers, it has a Church, Manse & School, but neither Inn or Post Office, and but one small shop for the sale of groceries the houses are partly thatched, partly slated, in good repair & are the property of John Ord McKenzie Esqr.
