018.16 A little village on the line of the Lanark and Glasgow T.P. Road. It is surrounded by orchards which are also used as vegetable gardens. There is neither a Smithy, a Public House, a School, nor a Post Office in Rosebank. James Hosier of Mauldslie Castle is the principal proprietor here.
There is a lodge house north of the village, by the side of the Ca track leading to the "Old Ford", which was formerly used for a gate that was kept here for the convenience of the proprieto of "Maulslie Castle", when
