The old residence of the Hamiltons of Dalserf, was at "Auldton", but there is still older site at "Castlehill", where probably the Cumins had their residence, and from which several royal charters are dated".

This name now applies to a cotter's house occupied by a servant of the Duke of Hamilton, whose property it has been for a considerable time. None of the personal authorities quoted, remember of an ancient house, or the ruins or remains of such being here.
