Would you have the goodness to inform me if any remains have been found at the old Camp the site of which is near Sheriffcleugh to justify it being called a Roman Camp. - or if you think it merely a Druidical Circle or the site of a Cairn.

In this locality have been found the blade of a sword thought to be Roman - and a seal finely cut, with the head of one of the Emperors.
