According to the "Old Statistical account" it was at this spot that Queen Mary viewed the Battle of Langside in 1568. The view obtained of Langside from here, is not by any means so good as from the Courthill of Cathcart from which, according to Dr [Doctor] Smiths account, she witnessed the same engagement__ |
