032; 038 | A considerable stream which takes its rise in the east base of Cairn table, from surface water, travelling the whole length of the parish of Douglas and for the last two miles of its course, forms the boundary between the parishes of Lesmahagow and Carmichael, falling into the River Clyde at Crookboat farmsteading. For the first two miles of its course it is rapid and has a rocky bed, confined between steep banks, principally; the remainder of its course is not rapid as it flows through the flat holmland - gravelly bed & low banks. Principal tributaries are - Monks Water, Carmacoup Burn, Glespin Burn and Poniel Water |
