It has been two years in use, & is likely to last a considerable time. It is working in the direction of "Preaching Brae". It is the Property of the Duke of Hamilton by whom it is wrought.

011.05 "The inhabitants of Kirkhill are obliged to go a considerable distance to the "Burn Millo", a small open Spring At the bottom of Conversion Brae," The well is not used now, but the water is as good as the Wells around it. The name "Kirkburn Well", is by the best authorities, considered the proper name.
