011.05 A neat thatched cottage having out-houses & garden attached. It is built on the site of the 'Lady Chapel of Kirkburn'. There seems to be no proper reason for the mode of spelling adhered to by the proprietor, except that he & his predecessor have used it. The name is evidently taken from the Chapel which stood here.

011.05 A small plain building built in 1802 & capable of containing a congregation of about 200. It belongs to a small congregation belonging to the missionaries, or Congregational Mission. It is sometimes called an Independent Chapel, but the incumbent considers the name given to be the proper one. There is a manse or dwelling house behind it on the south side, occupied by the Minister - Revd J. Pullar
