The ground taken up by the Works formerly belonged to Lauchope Estate, the Chapel site of which is shown near the furnaces. This is the beginning of a private mineral Railway called "Legbranock Ry [Railway]." "Chapelhall Iron Works" is the property of & wrought by the Monkland Iron & Steel Co. [Company] of Calderbank, Old Monkland Parish.
