017.02 A couple of Farm Steadings belonging to , & occupied by two Proprietors. There is no distinction term used by either Proprietor to these Farms. The name is therefore written so as to be apply to both Farms. In the Parish they are commonly called "Park" but Mr. Jackson, Proprietor of the west Farm, insists that his Farm, & Lands belonging to it, are properly "Blantyre Park", & that the east Farm also upon the Lands of "Blantyre Park" as well as the dwelling house situated about 15 chains south east of it. No distinctions are used by the Proprietors of these three properties, each claims the proper name as "Blantyre Park", but in the Parish the distinction "Park" is best known as applying to Mr. Jackson's, &Mr Millers, & " Blantyre Park" To Mrs. Weirs, the house south east of the others. The latter is a superior dwelling. There is a Mineral Well a short distance south of Mr. Jacksons' Farm.
"Red Burn" runs between the Farms.
