011.14 A field belonging to “Greenhall” in which Urns are said to have been found, but at what particular part cannot be pointed out by the oldest & best authorities in the locality. The Knowes seem to have been levelled, there being, at present, but one, which is too insignificant to define as a hill feature. The name as “Law Knowes” is well known; as “Law Hills” it is not generally recognised except by the more intelligent persons of the locality, who prefer the popular name of “Law Knowes”.
