011.11 | A strip of Plantation on the side of the River Clyde extending from the west side of a Young Plantation on the bottom of the Trace, to the fence which encloses it on the north side, at about 15 chains distance from"Blantyre Priory". (XI.7 Trace 4). From a Stream 9 chains from the north margin of this Trace to the southern extremity, is interspersed with Fir trees , & from the same point to its northern extremity there are no Firs. A portion of this Plantation, extending to the fence 8 chains north of the southern bounds, is the property of the Right Houble. [Honourable] Lady Montague. The other, and largest, portion is the property of the Right Houble. [Honourable] Charles Lord Blantyre. The name is well known, but is commonly styled "Priory Wood". It is, however, a Plantation, & has the the appearance of being so for a very considerable time. |
