016 | [Situation] About 2 1/4 miles S.S.W. [South South West] of Lochinvar. The supposed site of a Grave yard in which is also pointed out the site of a chapel see page 35 on the farm of Bogue. It is handed down by tradition that it had been built by Pope Gregory 7th. The probability of this is that a Stone was found in the above ground with the inscription, Pope G.7 imperfectly inscribed upon one of its sides. The Stone is now placed at Bogue Cottage which is situate near to Bogue Toll Bar. |
