[North] end of Lochinvar The remains of an old building or Castle, situated upon a small Island in Lochinvar Loch, which is said to have belonged to the Gordons anciently Knights of Lochinvar, and now Viscounts of Kenmure and Lords of Lochinvar by restoration in 1824 to the titles forfeited in 1716. It is also said to have been approached by a causeway which is still visible from the Western Margin of the Lake, and in a very dry summer it is fordable. - |
