Dear Drewm,
Please can I point you in the direction of the FAQS to assist you in your transcriptions, http://www.scotlandsplaces.gov.uk/transcribe/forums/transcriptions/faqs-frequently-asked-questions/1159677 it is important to be familiar with these. There are also example pages to show you the correct way of transcribing.
Blank pages only need the page number and the words blank page, you do not need all the typed detail from the page header.
Please do not correct names or assume they need corrected, you are transcribing what is on the page, please also do not add names you have no proof of from the actual page.
Trigl has been decided it is trigonometrical.
The situation text should be transcribed either in the extras box or at the beginning of the desc. [Situation] about 4 chains blah blah. Then the desc.
And please ask any questions on the forum.

Please can I point you to the FAQs to help and support you in your transcribing. You have a few errors which will require amending inline with the guidelines and standards for this project. You are giving yourself extra unnecessary work. The link to the FAQS is http://www.scotlandsplaces.gov.uk/transcribe/forums/transcriptions/faqs-frequently-asked-questions
Please make yourself familiar with them and revisit regularly as they do change with the fluctuations of this new type of project.
Please also make use of the forums where we are available for support and to answer any questions you have.
Thanks
Nora
Ps i also left you a long note on p4 of this volume, including the need to correct triangulation to trigonometrical and not to correct names without giving evidence. And I completed p8 to show you how to do headers and blank pages. |
